OUR HISTORY

A few years ago, my husband Christian and I combined our expertise and founded the company much too much specialty store for jewelry from 2nd hand. Over the years, we have always come across pieces of jewelry that have especially delighted my heart and made my eyes light up. Like the enchanting butterfly on our website, which has fired my imagination and captured my heart. From my enthusiasm for jewelry pieces that still stand out from so many beautiful jewelry pieces, the idea was born to create a new platform just for these heartfelt pieces. In order to exclusively bring these special jewels to shine and leave space for their beauty, we have kept everything else reduced and discreet, without sacrificing the essentials. Inspired by another wonderful quote from Coco Chanel

"Minimalism is the key to true elegance "

CLARISSA

I have been a 2nd generation auctioneer for more than 35 years. From childhood I was allowed to experience the auctions of my mother. Thus, I was able to conduct auctions at a young age and gain a lot of experience. Even though at the beginning of my commercial career it did not look as if I would actually pursue this profession, my path led me back to it. In 1999, I took over my mother's classic auction house when she retired. In 2005 I decided to dissolve the auction house and to open a small store with antiques and jewelry on my idyllically situated remaining farm. I then only freelanced as an auctioneer until 2018, when I re-opened a jewelry auction house in 2019. In 2014, I met my life partner Christian Dietes. Through this meeting and the shared enthusiasm for jewelry, the idea was born at some point to combine the common passion professionally and specialize in jewelry with the company much too much.

CHRISTIAN

My professional career first led me in a completely different direction. Although I was already interested in gemstones as a child, it was first to become a very classic technical trade, in which I worked as a master craftsman. But the fascination for gemstones continued to slumber in me for many years. So after half of my professional life I decided to take a new path. Now the fascination should become a profession and a vocation. My way led me to Idar- Oberstein, the center of gemstones in Germany, to get a profound education. Afterwards I opened my own gemstone laboratory, which I equipped with the most modern equipment. When I met my wife Clarissa in 2014, after some time it was natural for me to combine our knowledge and experience in the company much too much and enrich each other.
